SPENCERVILLE — James F. “Jim” Williams, 69, of rural Spencerville died at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Roselawn Manor Nursing Home in Spencerville, following an extended illness.

He was born Dec. 28, 1944, in Lima to Milo Frederick and Mary Elizabeth (Krites) Williams, who preceded him in death. His stepfather, Wilbur “Will” Howell, also preceded him in death.

Roger D. MuellerSPENCERVILLE — Roger D. Mueller, 73, formerly of Delphos and a resident of the Roselawn Manor Nursing Home in Spencerville for the past two years, died at 4:12 a.m. Saturday in the St. Rita’s Medical Center Emergency Department following a sudden illness.

He was born June 6, 1940, in Delphos to Syril Edward and Ardatha Ann (Huber) Mueller, who preceded him in death.

Martha C. (Stallkamp) KihmOct. 8, 1913-April 22, 2014

Martha C. (Stallkamp) Kihm, 100, of Hamilton passed away peacefully in her sleep Tuesday at home surrounded by her family.

Martha was born in Delphos on Oct. 8, 1913, the youngest of 11 children of Edward and Anna (Finckh) Stallkamp.

She was a graduate of Delphos St. John’s High School, class of 1931, and also of Northwestern School of Business. She worked for Associates Finance in Lima until she married Robert R. Kihm Jan. 25, 1941. He preceded her in death in 1994 after 53 years of marriage.

She leaves behind three sons, Michael (Susan) Kihm, Thomas (Jacqueline) Kihm and David Kihm, all of Hamilton; two daughters, Karen (John) Melko of Foster City, Calif., and Judith (Bill) McKnight of Terre Haute, Ind., along with 13 grandchildren: Andrew (Holly) Kihm, Caroline Horton, Christopher McKnight, Daniel Kihm, Elizabeth Timmerman, Jeffrey (Kate) Kihm, John Kihm, John (Valerie) Melko, Joseph (Suzette) Melko, Katherine Vogt, Kristine (Aaron) Browning, Maria (John) Hetherton and Sonia Melko; 20 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by all of her siblings as well as all of her brothers and sisters-in-law.

After raising her children, she volunteered for many years in the surgery waiting room of Hamilton Mercy Hospital.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Weigel Funeral Home, 980 NW Washington Blvd., Hamilton.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church, Ridgelawn and Liberty avenues, followed by entombment in St. Stephen Mausoleum.

Memorials may be directed to Stephen T. Badin High School, 571 New London Road, Hamilton, OH 45013, St. Xavier High School, 600 North Bend Road, Cincinnati, OH 45224, and to Hospice of Hamilton, 1010 Eaton Avenue, Hamilton, OH 45013.

Charles R. "Dick" SayAug. 30, 1921 -  April 24, 2014

Charles R. “Dick” Say died at 7:13 a.m. Thursday in Van Wert County Hospital.

He was born Aug. 30, 1921, in Delphos to J. H. and Elizabeth (Delaney) Say, who preceded him in death.

On Jan. 26, 1943, he married Mary (Pollock), who survives.

He is also survived by sons, Rick (Linda) Say and Bob (Gina) Say both of Van Wert; grandchildren, Bart (Theresa) Say, Sarah (Matt) Sease, Amy (Tom) Williamson and Jeff Say; and seven great-grandchildren surviving.

He was the founder, owner and operator of VW Auto, Inc., in Van Wert for many years. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert, Knights of Columbus Council 6034, a life member of BPOE Lodge 1197, a member of Van Wert Rotary, a US Army veteran of World War ll and a graduate of Delphos St. John’s High School.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with Fathers James Say and Stanley Szybka officiating.

Friends may call at Brickner Funeral Home from 2-6 p.m. Sunday. A Parish Vigil and Rosary service will follow the visitation.

Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery Van Wert.

Preferred memorials are to St. Mary of the Assumption School.

LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Jared Benjamin Osting, 21, of Lafayette, Indiana, passed away Friday.

He was born in Wooster on June 18, 1992, to Jan and Janet Osting, who survive.

He is also survived by his fiancee, Tori Blue Lynn; two siblings, Grant Osting and Brittany (Curt) Butler; and two grandmothers, Mary Savidge of Spencerville and Elizabeth Osting of Delphos.

He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Mike Savidge and Edward Osting.

Jared graduated from McCutcheon High School in 2011 and attended Vincennes University. He joined the United States Marine Corp this spring. He enjoyed hunting, riding his motorcycle and hanging out with friends.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Soller Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Charity Baptist Church, 1718 N 15th St., Lafayette. Burial will be at Meadow View Cemetery, 3733 Poland Hill Rd., Lafayette.

Virginia Elizabeth (Grey) WannemacherAug. 4, 1942-April 26, 2014

OTTOVILLE — Virginia E. Wannemacher, 71, of Ottoville died 8:42 a.m. Saturday at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born Aug. 4, 1942, in Toledo to Edward and Thelma (Todd) Grey, who preceded her in death.

On Sept. 1, 1973, she married Paul Wannemacher, who survives in Ottoville.

Virginia is also survived by her children, Ann (Mike) James of Payne, Jim (Rachel) Wannemacher of Ottoville and John (Amanda) Wannemacher of Delphos; three sisters, Pat (Jim) Kratzman, Judith Pidcock and Mary Worden all of Toledo; a brother, Frank (Ruth) Grey of Holland; seven grandchildren, Kylee, Mikel, Liz, Zack, Rian, Arin and Chloe; and many nieces and nephews.

She is also preceded in death by a sister, Beverly June Bailey; and two brothers, James and Donald Grey.

Virginia retired from Eaton Corp. in Van Wert. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville. She had been a nun with Sisters of the Precious Blood and enjoyed a teaching career where she taught elementary school in Tiffin and Toledo, and later substituted for Ottoville Local School and other area schools. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, baking, cooking and she always put others before herself.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, with Fr. Jerome Schetter officiating.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Jackson Township.

XENIA — On May 1, 2014, Jane Ellen Morris-Pyles was celebrated home. Jane Ellen was born March 22, 1926.

At the age of 18, she became the bride to 2nd Lt. Robert J. Wiseman. At age 19, she became the mother of their daughter, Roberta (Jerry Erwin) and a war widow.

She started working to support her family and became the secretary to the superintendent of Silvercreek (now Greeneview) schools. There she met Louis R. Morris, a history teacher, whom she married in December 1950. To them were born two daughters, Rebecca Lou (Terry Gillaugh) and Sue Ellen (Randy Barclay). After a marriage of 29 years, Louis passed away from lung cancer.

Twelve years later, in 1988, she married a close church friend, Monroe Pyles. They were happily married for several years before his death.

Jane was blessed with nine grandchildren, Philip (Kristine) Erwin, Robert (Emily) Erwin, Mark (Nichole) Erwin, Laura (Craig Cross), Daniel (Annie) Gillaugh, Ellen (Jason Wheatcraft), Megan (Michael Antalis), Colin Barclay, Jordan Barclay, and 10 great grandchildren.

She was known for her cookies, apple dumplings, the best grandma back-scratches and phenomenal sewing skills. She was a lifetime member of the Cedarville United Methodist Church where she played the organ, taught Sunday School, and accompanied the Adult and Youth choirs. She was also the organist for the Aldora Chapter, OES.

Jane Ellen is also preceded in death by her parents, Perry Mark and Margaret Ethel (Jolley) Gillilan; sister, Lucy; and one granddaughter, Lauren Ann Barclay.

She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed, but heaven gained an angel who will watch over each of us every day, “For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways,” Psalm 91:11.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cedarville United Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Anne Horton officiating. Burial at Milledgeville Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. until time of the service as well as on Wednesday.

DELPHOS — Dale D. Wiseman, 54, of Delphos died at 7:58 a.m. Tuesday at his residence.

He was born Dec. 31, 1959, in Lima to Robert and Mildred (Stocklin) Wiseman, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by four brothers, Robert Wiseman Jr. of Delphos, Roger (Monica) Wiseman of Ottoville, Gale Wiseman of Delphos and Terry (Stacey) Wiseman of Delphos; seven nephews; and four nieces.

He worked at Eagle Print for the past five years.

He enjoyed fishing, camping and just being an outdoorsman. He was an avid barbequer and enjoyed bicycling. He also spent a lot of time helping his neighbors out. He especially enjoyed his nieces and nephews and they will truly miss him.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Walnut Grove Cemetery.

SPENCERVILLE — Greg Binkley, 65, of Spencerville, died in his sleep Thursday at his residence following a short illness.

He was born Dec. 28, 1948, in Lima to Keith H. an Virginia E. (Schiffer) Binkley. His stepfather, Tom Gaskill, survives in Spencerville.

He was previously married to Ruth Ann Jacks, who is deceased. Then on March 10, 1984, he married Carla J. Hawk Goetz, who survives, along with his six children, Mike Binkley of Venedocia, Linda (Tim) Goffe of Gadston, Alamaba, Melissa (Stuart Cameron) Goetz of Spencerville, Shelley Goetz of New Market, Tennessee and Jon (Cheryl) Goetz and Jayme Goetz of Spencerville; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and two brothers, Mark (Schako) Binkley of Seattle and Paul (Cathy) Binkley of Spencerville.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, the Rev. Tom Shobe officiating. Burial will follow in Spencerville Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to the Spencerville Invincible Fire Company or the VFW Men’s Auxiliary.
