M. Felicia Dickman, 87, of Fort Jennings, died at 9:55 a.m. Thursday at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
She was born Feb. 26, 1926, in Lima to Felix F. and Josephine E. (Cooley) Schroeder, who preceded her in death.
On June 10, 1950, she married Elmer B. Dickman, who died March 3, 1980.
She is survived by eight children, Mary Jo (Robert) Schmersal of Ottawa, David (Diane) Dickman of Wapakoneta, Louise (Phillip) Barling of Fort Smith, Ariz., James (Karen) Dickman of Fort Jennings, Thomas (Magaly) Dickman of Albuquerque, N.M., Barbara (David) Brotherwood of Delphos, Eugene (Patricia) Dickman of Delphos and Ann (Steven) Geise of Swanton; 30 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Joseph (Irene) Schroeder of Ottawa.
Mrs. Dickman was a retired teacher from Fort Jennings Local Schools, where she was the music and band director and taught special education. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings, where she played the organ for nearly 50 years. She taught piano and voice lessons to many area children, was a member of Putnam County Retired Teachers Association, Fort Jennings American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the former Fort Jennings Rosary Altar Society. She enjoyed bowling and was on the same bowling team for 50 years. She also enjoyed traveling, especially with her dear friend, Eda Kohls, but above all she loved spending time with her family.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Rev. Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday and 2-8 p.m. on Sunday at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Jackson Township, and one hour prior to the mass on Monday at the church. There will be a scripture service Saturday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
