Paul James Osting, 45, of Lima, died Saturday at his residence.
He was born Jan. 17, 1967, in Lima to Roger and Sondra “Sonnie” (Frysinger) Osting, who survive in Cridersville.
Survivors also include fiance Kelly Walsh of Lima; daughter Kristy Moyler of Fort Wayne, Ind.; maternal grandmother Bette Frysinger of Lima; sisters Julie (Mark) Jackson of McLean, Ill. and Michelle Osting of Lima; uncle Todd Frysinger of Lima; grandson Doniven Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Christopher Osting.
Mr. Osting was a 1985 graduate of Delphos Jefferson High School. He had been an electrician for Challenge Electric for 14 years. He was a life member of BBG and a member of the Browns Backers Club. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes. He was an adventurist, who enjoyed being outside. He was a horseshoe specialist, an avid golfer and enjoyed playing cornhole. He loved spending time with friends and family and was a close friend of his dog, Koko. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a contagious laugh.
Services will begin at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel. The Rev. David Ross will officiate.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.

W. Tim Mericle, 71, of Delphos, died Sunday at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 2, 1940, in Lima, to Braxen and Margaret (Jones) Mericle, who preceded him in death.
On Oct. 2, 1993, he married Rebekah Kohorst, who survives in Delphos.
Survivors also include sons Jamie (Jodi Cooley) Joseph of Delphos and Chad (Angie) Joseph of Fort Jennings; and grandchildren Evan and Aubrey Joseph.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Harter and Schier Funeral Home, Pastor Wayne Prater officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Mericle was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was an artist at Delphos Granite for many years. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3035 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 471 in Delphos. He was a history buff and enjoyed riding his scooter and watching movies, but mostly enjoyed his grandchildren.

Martha Marie Offenbacher, 85, of Elida, died at 8:38 p.m. Monday at Vancrest Healthcare Center in Delphos.
She was born Feb. 22, 1927, in Rushsylvania to Harley and Clara (Hatcher) Hites.
On Sept. 8, 1947, she married William Offenbacher, who died on Jan. 10, 1980.  S
Survivors include sons Mark (Bev) Offenbacher and Ed (Irene) Offenbacher of Lima; daughter Donna (Doug) Cummans of Elida; brother F. Andy Hites of Huntsville; sisters Joyce (Bob) Howsher of Mexico, Julia Ferguson of Huntsville and Maxine Downing of Bellefontaine; grandchildren Julia, Melinda, Laura, Michael, Adam, Nathan, Jennifer, Tom and Travis; and great-grandchildren Sarah, Dorothy, Allisun, Dylan, Jordan, Kiya and Chase.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Wallace Hites; and sisters Millie Wells, Phylis Allen, Elsie Taylor, Caroline Hamilton, Frieda Bayer and Susan Ann Krouskop.
Mrs. Offenbacher was a homemaker and housekeeper for several families in the Lima area and a member of Church of the Living God and former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Funeral services begin at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Eastside Chapel. Pastor Diana Shurelds will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 12:30-2:30 p.m. before the service at the funeral home on Thursday.

Dorothy Ellen Loveridge, 99, of Lima, died at 5:10 p.m. on Monday at Vancrest Health Care Center in Delphos.
She was born on June 24, 1912, in Oakwood to Claude and Edith (Alspach) Brillhart, who preceded her in death.
On Dec. 24, 1943, she married Budd T. Loveridge, who died on June 29, 1975.
Surviving are two daughters, Cheryl L. Pelasky of Delphos and Karen L. (Dale) Fair of Elida; four grand children, Amanda (Vince) DeLuca, Kurt Leahey, Shawna (Dale) Jones, and John Pelasky; two stepgrandchildren, Amy (Randy) Staley and Adam (Marta) Fair; and five great-grandchildren, and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was also predeceased by three brothers, Harold Brillhart, Harley Brillhart and Wilbur Brillhart.
Mrs. Loveridge was a 79-year member of Ida Rebekah Lodge #391 (Spencerville); Trinity Chapter 316 OES; White Shrine of Jerusalem #20; Shawnee Grange; former member of Grace United Methodist Church, and Grace United Women; current member of Trinity United Methodist. She had worked at Kresge’s of Lima for 14 years and then taught at Carosell Beauty College for 10 years. She and her husband also owned Loveridge Trailer Haven in Lima for many years.
Funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday at the Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, the Rev. John Medaugh officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, OH.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Gene L. “Yogi” Von Lehmden, 67, of Fort Jennings died 4:45 a.m. Thursday at his residence surrounded by his family following complications from ALS. 
He was born Nov. 27, 1944, in Lima to Alvin and Rita (Stechschulte) Von Lehmden, who preceded him in death. 
On July 31, 1965, he married Joann Pohlman, who survives in Fort Jennings.
Also surviving are his children, Cheryl (Roger) Koch of Glandorf, Brent (Cheryl) Von Lehmden of Fort Jennings and Mark (Pamela) Von Lehmden of Aurora, Ill.; nine grandchildren:, Logan, Kialee, Connor and Alexa Koch and Kelsey, Alex, Cody, Piper and Georgia Von Lehmden; and four brothers, Doyle (Joyce) Von Lehmden, Ronald (Mary) Von Lehmden, Duane (Rebecca) Von Lehmden and Kim (Yolanda) Von Lehmden of Fort Jennings.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Joan Von Lehmden.
Mr. Von Lehmden worked for 38 years as an electrician at General Motors Corp., Defiance, and was also co-owner of Maxim Motors, Fort Jennings. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings. His other memberships included the Fort Jennings Sons of the American Legion Post 715, Fort Jennings Lions Club, UAW Local 211 Retirees, Defiance, Delphos VFW, Delphos Eagles and the Kalida Fish and Game Club. He was a basketball official for 25 years; a baseball umpire for 30 years and a volunteer coach for the Fort Jennings Elementary basketball program. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, camping, woodcarving, woodturning, playing cards in several card clubs and having a good time. He enjoyed taking vacations with his family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings, the Rev. Joseph Przybysz officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. 
Visitation will be held from 1-8 p.m. Sunday at the Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Jackson Township, and for one hour prior to the service Monday at church. A Scripture service will be held 12:45 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Putnam County Home Care and Hospice or to the Memorial Hall Fund.

Norman A. Buettner, 73, of Ottoville died at 7:09 p.m. Monday at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
He was born March 12, 1939, in Mt. Blanchard to Neil (C.T.) and Esther (Gengler) Buettner, who preceded him in death.
On Oct. 8, 1960, he married Stella Hilvers, who survives in Ottoville.
Also surviving are three sons, Kevin (Karen) Buettner of Ottoville, Jeff (Kathy) Buettner of Delphos and Brian (Debbie) Buettner of Sandusky; and five grandchildren, Neil, Eric, Nadine, Collin and Monica Buettner.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Buettner; and a sister, Janet Landwehr.
Mr. Buettner was retired from Ford Motor Company, Lima. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, and its Holy Name Society. He was also a member of Delphos Eagles.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, the Rev. John Stites officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ottoville.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Jackson Township, corner of St. Rts. 224 and 634, where there will be Scripture service at 2 p.m.

Kenneth L. Mueller, 70, of Delphos, died at 7:15 p.m. Saturday at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center after a yearlong battle with cancer.

He was born July 26, 1941, in Landeck, to Melville and Viola (Gengler) Mueller, who preceded him in death.

Survivors include son Ken Mueller of Delphos; daughters Kami (Kevin) Williams and Kelli (Brian) Hensley of Delphos; sisters Patricia Vorst of Middle Point and Joyce (Larry) Keipper of Delphos; brother Stanley (Shirley) Mueller of Landeck; and grandchildren Kyle White, Curtis White, Abby Hensley, Brayden Hensley, Emma Mueller and Elijah Mueller.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Leo Mueller.

Mr. Mueller served more than 33 years on the Allen County Fair Board, including three years as vice president. In 2005, he was inducted into the Allen County Agricultural Society Hall of Fame. He retired from Vetter Concrete after 40 years of service. He was a 1961 St. John High School graduate and a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Landeck Foresters and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 471.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Landeck, the Rev. Jacob Gordon officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Harter and Schier Funeral Home.

She married Todd Runyan, who survives in Melrose.
She is also survived by her brother, Darrel Ailes of Oregon; and step mother Hazel Ailes of Connersville.

Roger L. Wiechart, 61, of Delphos, died at 1:45 a.m. Tuesday at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 22, 1950, in Lima, to Bernard and Elizabeth (Stopfel) Wiechart.
He is survived by his longtime caregiver, Jay (Ellen) Moore of Ottoville; and his second family, Don and Norma Moore of Grover Hill and the rest of the Moore family.
Mr. Wiechart was a brick layer who took several trade classes, was an avid fisherman and hunter and member at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial begins at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Rev. Mel Verhoff officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.

Roger E. Crowe, 71, of Delphos died at his residence.
He was born Sept. 4, 1940 in Van Wert County to Merlin and Velma (Jamison) Crowe, who preceded him in death.
Survivors include a sister, Mary (Jeff) Miller of Delphos; nieces and nephews, Sharon Cummings, Laura Cross, Mary Ann Wilson, Susan Gabel, Alison Metcalfe, Jan Nussbaum, John Miller and Sam Miller; and many great-nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Crowe; and great-nephew, Nathan Miller.
Mr. Crowe had been a civilian employee with the Navy and then Army, where he worked as an electrical engineer at the Tank Plant in Lima. He was a very active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, IEEE, was treasurer for the Marbletown Festival and was on the board to help restore the Dienstberger House.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church, the Rev. David Howell officiating. Burial will be in King Cemetery, Middle Point.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Harter and Schier Funeral Home, and for one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

Marie A. Weaver, 89, of Delphos died at 12:54 p.m. Tuesday at Vancrest Healthcare Center.
She was born July 15, 1922, in Delphos to John and Agnes (Flaherty) Halterlein.
On Dec. 23, 1944, she married Lowell Junior Weaver, who died on March 14, 1987.
Survivors include son Mike (Donna) Weaver of Bagdad, Kentucky, sons-in-law Ervin Fabian and Jim Robertson of Delphos; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by daughters Patricia Kratzer and Rita Sampson; and sisters Regina Mosel, Rita O’Leniacz and Dorothy Case.
Mrs. Weaver sewed airplane wings in the Panama Canal during World War II. She had worked for Welles, Kings and First National Bank. She was a member of Delphos Senior Citizens, Delphos Eagles Lodge, Orioles and Blue Star Mothers.
Services begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Shawnee Chapel, the Rev. Jim Szobonya officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Chapel Cemetery in Lima.

On June 26, 1937, she married William Olin “Bill” McKinley, who died July 30, 1989.

He was born Dec. 3, 1963, in Lima to Oscar and Helen (Brenner) Schneeg, who preceded him in death.
Survivors include two brothers, John (Sandy) Schneeg of Buckeye, Ariz., and Mike (Mary Beth) Schneeg of Glandorf; four nieces, Katelyn, Lauren, Lindsey and Kristy Schneeg; and a nephew, Matthew Schneeg.
Mr. Schneeg was employed by Brookhill Center Industries, Ottawa. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville. He participated in Special Olympics and enjoyed music.   
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Rev. John Stites officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ottoville.

Helen Marie Chandler, 95, of Fort Jennings died at 4:13 a.m. Wednesday at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 8, 1916, in Fort Jennings to George and Verena (Stegeman) Wallenhorst, who preceded her in death.
On May 14, 1947, she married Earl L. Chandler, who died Nov. 25, 1991.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy (Edward) Andrews of Fort Jennings; three grandchildren, Robert (Alesha) Andrews, Tara (Eric) Mackert, and Tammi (Chad) Van Bibber; three great-grandchildren, Hayden Andrews, Harper Andrews, and Kaylyn Mackert; and a sister-in-law, Sally Wallenhorst of Middle Point.
Also preceding her in death were four sisters, Sr. Euphrasia Wallenhorst, Esther (Greg) Eggeman, Thelma (Art) Beckman and Alice (Carl) Snyder; and three brothers: Gilbert Wallenhorst, Wilbur (Lucille) Wallenhorst and Alfred (Anne) Wallenhorst.
Mrs. Chandler was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings, and the Fort Jennings Ladies American Legion Auxiliary. She loved sewing, gardening and babysitting her grandchildren when they were little. She and her husband were in Fort Jennings’s first graduating class in 1935.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Rev. Mel Verhoff officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Jackson Township (corner of St. Rts. 634 & 224), and one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Saturday. There will be a scripture service at 1:45 p.m. and a Ladies Auxiliary Service at 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

She was born May 3, 1922, in Marion Township to Roy W. and Breta V. (Foust) Humphreys, who preceded her in death.          
On Oct. 30, 1942, she married Nile M. Brenneman, who died on Dec. 25, 2001.
Survivors include a son, Tom (Bobbie) Brenneman of Delphos; a daughter, Judith (Steve) Fisher of New Castle, Colo.; a sister, Evelyn Mason of Lima; three sisters-in-law,  Catherine Gerdemann of Delphos, Betty Blauser of Troy and Carrie (Ken) Lichius of Cullman, Ala.; five grandchildren, Tony (Dee Dee) Fisher of Glenwood Springs, Colo., Todd (Wendy) Fisher of Porter Corners, N.Y., Sandra (Doug) Knauf of Canton, James (Elizabeth) Brenneman of Alexandria, Va., and Jason (Linda) Brenneman of Madison, N.J.; nine great-grandchildren, Kalie (David) Herth of Buffalo, Wyo., Cameron (Natasha Whiting) Fisher of Salt Lake City, Utah, Riley, Gabrielle and Charlotte Knauf of Canton, Lindsay Brenneman of Madison, N. J. and Myles, Karis and Brandon Fisher of Porter Corners; two great-great-grandchildren, Bentley Fisher of Salt Lake City and Jaden Herth of Buffalo, Wyo.; two stepgrandchildren, Niki (Craig) Holcomb of Gomer and Chad (Susan) Bryan, of Elida; and four stepgreat grandchildren, Trevor and Danielle Crouch and Dylan and Cody Bryan.
She was also preceded in death by a son, David Joseph Brenneman; and daughter-in-law, Vivian (Kill) Brenneman.       During World War II, Mrs. Brenneman worked as a dental assistant and at Myers Cleaners. She was a 1940 graduate of Delphos Jefferson High School. She was a 60-year member of Morris Chapel United Methodist Church and when it was closed in 1995, she became a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Delphos. While at Morris Chapel, she taught Sunday School, was a leader of Epworth League, was on the Counselor Team for Youth Fellowship and was a counselor for Winter Retreats at Camp Wesley. She served as president of Lima District United Methodist Women and as secretary of Lima District United Methodist Women. She was a 15-year leader of 4-H Merry Cloverettes and spent 35 years on the election board of Marion West. In 1950, she was selected as the Allen County Farmwife of the year.
She was a member of the Chapter #26 of Eastern Star, where she held many stations in the chapter and served as Worthy Matron in 1995, along side her son, Tom, as Worthy Patron. She was the first person to receive a Shining Star Award from the Delphos Chapter. She was always helping the needy and started helping the migrant workers which led to the formation of the Thrift Shop in Delphos sponsored by the Church Women United. She helped sort and repair clothing and clerked. She recruited workers and was phone chairman. As health and age slowed her down, she started writing the “Thrift Shop News” for the Delphos Herald, keeping the community informed of current happenings at the Thrift Shop.
She always looked forward to visits from her family. She loved to cook, bake and make candy. Her favorite recipes are still in use by her children and grandchildren as well as her friends in the community. Her generous and loving spirit will be missed by those who knew her.          
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity United Methodist Church, the Rev. David Howell officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.          
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at Harter and Schier Memorial Chapel, where an Eastern Star service begins at 8 p.m.; and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.                 Preferred memorials are to Trinity United Methodist Church Building Fund and Interfaith Thrift Shop.

Geraldine T. Grubenhoff, 91, of Ottoville, died at 9:08 a.m. Friday at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 21, 1921, in Delphos, to Frank and Veronica (Elwer) Osting. On Sept. 1, 1943, she married Edwin Grubenhoff.
She is survived by daughters Janet (Al) Mescher of Troy and Mary Jean (Ron) Schweller of Fort Jennings; sisters La Donna (Leo) Schmelzer, Earlene (John) Williams and Vera (Jim) Koester of Delphos; brothers Moletus Osting of Delphos, Alvin (Marilyn) Osting and Norm (Karen) Osting of Troy and Roger Osting of Cridersville; grandchildren Kevin Mescher, Diana (Scott) Myers, Jennifer (Bryan) Harris, Julie (Doug) Kimmet; great grandchildren Jason and Megan Myers, Beckett and Isabella Harris and Kaitlyn, Lauren and Madison Kimmet.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Wilfred, Eugene, Urban, Ed and Earl; and sister Marie.
Mrs. Grubenhoff was a homemaker who worked at Bob’s Grocery and Kalida IGA. She was a member at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Alter Rosary and she enjoyed swimming at the Van Wert “Y”, sewing, quilting over 60 quilts, gardening, canning and she especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial begins at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Rev. John Stites officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ottoville.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Sunday and from 9-10 a.m. Monday at the Harter and Schier Memorial Chapel.
Preferred memorials are to donor’s choice.

Ramon Rosalez Vasquez, 83, of Fort Wayne, died on Friday at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.

Born in Texas, he was the son of Hipolito “Pete” and Mercedes (Rosalez) Vasquez.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sally; daughter, Maria (Oliver) Kiss of Bradenton, Fla.; son, Ramon (Valerie) Vasquez Jr. of Fort Wayne; stepchildren, Daniel (Rosie) Conroy and Brian Conroy of Fort Wayne, Mike (Sue) Conroy of Summerville, S.C., and Patti (Doug) Kershner of Marion; four brothers, Adolph “Doc” of Lima and Lazaro, Frank (Pat) and William (Sue) Vasquez of Delphos; sister, Lucy (Charles) Zink of Wapakoneta; grandchildren, Nate and Kyra Vasquez; step-grandchildren, Daniel, Corey, Michael, Erin, and Kyle Conroy, Luke Gasper and Laura Shoemaker; and several nieces, nephews and step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Mitch, Florence “Ponchie” and Ben Vasquez; and sisters, Lola Heyser and Ernestine “Ernie” Metz.

Mr. Vasquez was a 1951 graduate of Jefferson High School in Delphos and the Fort Wayne Art Institute and John Herron School of Art & Design, Indianapolis. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, serving in the 101st Airborne Division. He was a member of American Legion Post 28 and the V.F.W. in Delphos. He was an industrial designer for International Harvester/Navistar, where he had worked for 25 years.

A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fellowship Missionary Church 2536 Tillman Road, Fort Wayne, with military honors. Burial is private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home of Fort Wayne or Artlink of Fort Wayne.
